News has been circulating here on social media for the past few days that the Higher Education Commission has allowed university students to progress without examinations.

It also said the commission had decided to block all online classes. However, the HEC called the news a hoax.

In a tweet on Saturday, the commission said, “HEC is addressing students’ concerns about online classes and exams, but advertising students without exams are out of [question].”

Earlier this week, students from across the country gathered outside the HEC office in Islamabad to get their full semester fees waived.

He claimed that the online classes run by the university include only daily lectures and recordings for which students use their resources such as Wi-Fi and mobile internet.

They have demanded that they are promoted to the next semester without examinations and that their fees be reduced by 50 percent.

1. Many students have no access to an internet connection. Those who have access merely attends online classes because of slow internet connection.
2. No proper timing of LMS, even on Saturday and Sunday, in the morning and evening students just scroll the groups and google classes. They don’t even make time for assignments or for their daily schedules.
3. Students are psychologically pressurized and have become obsessed with Mobiles and laptops.
4. We are being treated as private students besides paying heavy amounts.
5. All the students are worried about their degrees. We are just baffled by LMS and temporarily engaged in heavy assignments.
6. Quantity of Assignments is given beyond analyzing its possibility. Students are unable to comprehend the subjects. https://www.hec.gov.pk/
7. Students of Mathematics, languages, Science, and other conceptual subjects face difficulties in comprehension.

HEC and other Higher authorities are requested that kindly consider these issues seriously.
